My record collection has a section dedicated to records I categorize as “cheese.” Things like Enoch Light, guides to wine appreciation, speeches railing against the Soviet Menace, sex ed for the family, that kind of thing. So, in order to celebrate some of my most treasured pieces of wax, I thought I’d add a new section to this blog where I share some of my favorites with you. The first up is one of the weirder things I’ve found: Rio Grande to Silverton. It celebrates narrow gauge freight trains and is pretty much nothing but the sound of trains hauling freight. I picked this beauty up for $2. A steal. For those producers inclined to flip strange beats, Rio Grande to Silverton is definitely one worth seeking out. And it’s a must have for all train enthusiasts. I’ll let the album’s cover art speak for itself.
