SO WHAT: A JAZZ ANTI-CRITICISM

Good News (Hopefully) for the KC Jazz Scene: New Ownership at Jardines

A few weeks back the Kansas City jazz scene took a huge hit when Jardines, one of the city’s most prominent jazz venues, closed its doors.  I’m not going to get into the details of what happened and what ensued in the aftermath of it closing, as there were a lot of rumors and it was just an ugly situation all around.  But, word has it that the club has new owners and will be reopening.  (KC’s alt weekly The Pitch has the scoop on the new owners.)

Given the turbulence surrounding Jardines recently, I’m sure I’m not the only one who is trying not to be too optimistic, but hopefully the new owners will continue to offer great music, atmosphere and food to KC’s great jazz fans.

…now if only 1911 would reopen….
